I’m quite partial to the CGP Grey idea of themes. I thought this year I would set a few themes and note them, so I can remark how my interpretation of them and my achievement of them has changed by the end of the year.
Health
- My physical health has taken a significant hit recently, for now my goal in this direction is to close my apple watch rings every day.
- Probably also try to reduce the amount of junk food I consume.
Bugger it
- I tend to supress things I may wish to do now at the alter of ‘future me’ regretting them.
- I shouldn’t do this.. Hence, bugger it - damn the consequences, just on ocassion :).
Socialisation
- Although I have a fair few hobbies, I don’t have much in the way of like social clubs or something similar.
- I’d like to perhaps join one, and generally try and become a hair more sociable.
Learning
- Taking the hobbies I have and learning more about them, as well as learning more about the world as a whole.
- Sort of an ongoing theme of life for me.
Fun
- The easiest activity for one to do after a long day is watch YouTube.
- But other things are massively more enjoyable. Music, Video Games, Chess, Reading, …
- So the fun in this goal is about using the fun time I have more effectively.
By December 2025, these general themes and goals will have probably morphed in ways I can’t yet anticipate, but isn’t that part of the fun? So long as the general idea is still ongoing, the theme was a success.
